Toyota Reports Record Sales in September
Toyota Motor’s September production report revealed the highest-ever monthly sales of 23,590 units, up 3% from August’s record sales.
The Japanese automaker also reported selling over 7.5 million vehicles during the first nine months of 2023, with domestic sales up 20.5% in September. Toyota Motor reported sales in the U.S. and Europe rose 14% and 18.1%, respectively.
In total, the automaker produced 7.4 million vehicles worldwide in September, up 10.1% over the same period in 2022. Toyota Motor produced 2.5 million units in Japan, and 4.9 million units outside of Japan.
Its exports for September totaled 1.4 million units, up 13.1% over September 2022.
Sales and production increased in the first half of Fiscal Year 2024 because of improved semiconductor supply and fewer COVID-19 restrictions compared to the first half of Fiscal Year 2023, the company reported.
From April to September 2023, Toyota Motor Co. saw a 9.1% increase in sales, selling 5.2 million vehicles worldwide. Production also increased from April to September 2023, with the automaker producing 5.1 million vehicles worldwide.
Toyota Motor Co. reported a 24% increase in exports from April to September 2023, exporting a total of 1.02 million vehicles.
