WINTERSVILLE, Ohio — The Steel Valley Antique Car Club brought a nostalgic flair to Indian Creek High School with its annual car show, featuring over 200 classic vehicles ranging from Corvettes to Chevelles and Mini Coopers to PT Cruisers. Sponsored by Valvoline Express Care and Wash, the event catered to both car enthusiasts and casual admirers.
John Petrella, an event organizer, emphasized the community spirit fostered by the show. “It brings togetherness and shows how united we can be. Car people just got a lot of soft heart to them, just like the Harley Davidson people. When you ask for them, they’re there and we’re here,” he said.
Beyond the gleaming automobiles, attendees enjoyed food trucks, a pin-up contest, and other attractions. The presence of many young attendees was a highlight for organizers, who expressed hope for the future of the automotive world. “I see the young kids out here, and they’re going to be the future. Hopefully a lot of them get a good education out of this so they can go to the technical schools for mechanic classes,” Petrella said.
The event also aimed to create lasting traditions for families. “Their grandpaps and granddads can show them—and their fathers can show them, just to make it like, ‘Hey, this is my car someday, son, this is going to be yours.’ So, it’s just a good friendship and fellowship thing for them,” Petrella added.
The Steel Valley Antique Car Club plans more events throughout the summer, continuing to foster community and inspire future generations.
