The best new Porsche models coming by 2025: all you need to know

The folks at Porsche have been very busy in 2024 working on a whole host of new models. Here’s what you have to look forward to from the German brand over the next few years…

We’ve been treated to quite a few new Porsches in 2024, with the new Macan EV, Panamera and the 911 T-Hybrid all making their debut, as well as the bonkers Taycan Turbo GT with a Tesla-scaring 1,033hp.

There are no signs of things in Stuttgart slowing down over the next few years either, so let’s take a look at what we can expect to see before the end of 2025.

With 2024 quickly drawing to a close, let’s take a look back at the cars Porsche has launched this year

New Porsche Taycan Turbo GT

This is the most powerful car Porsche has ever made: the Taycan Turbo GT. It takes aim at the Tesla Model S Plaid, and its two electric motors produce 1,033hp. That’s enough to do 0-60mph in just 2.2 seconds.

Not only is it blisteringly fast in a straight line, the Turbo GT now holds the record for the fastest production electric car around the Nurburgring, and it’s claimed the same record at the Laguna Seca raceway in California.

The Porsche 911 has been given a mid-life update, and the biggest news here is the introduction of a new hybrid system. This may sound like sacrilege, but it’s a very clever setup which only enhances the already excellent driving experience.

The hybrid model has an electric motor built into the gearbox which can store energy when you lift off the throttle, and it then uses it to boost the engine’s power. There’s also an electrically-driven turbocharger with no lag, resulting in instant acceleration when you put your foot down.

Looking ahead to next year, pure EVs seem to be the main focus for Porsche.

New Porsche Boxster EV

Porsche’s entry-level sports car is due to go electric in 2025, and this new drop-top EV has been spotted out and about during testing. Diehard petrolheads may be disheartened to see such an iconic sports car lose its flat-six petrol engine, but Porsche could have a few tricks up its sleeve to make this just as fun to drive.

Exact technical details are thin on the ground for now, but the new Boxster could use the 435hp front motor from the Mission R concept. To help manage the extra weight of the batteries, it could also have a ‘chest’ style pack which would simulate the weight distribution of a mid-engined car.

New Porsche Cayenne EV

Porsche’s luxury SUV will also be going electric in 2025, but the Cayenne EV will be sold alongside the petrol-powered model which was revealed late last year. The design will be tweaked to help this model stand out, with a similar headlight design to the Macan EV.

The technical specifications of this new Volvo EX90 alternative are still under wraps for now, however Porsche has already confirmed that it’ll use an enhanced version of the Macan EV’s underpinnings. This means you can expect to see a 100kWh battery pack with as much as 400 miles of range.
