Dealers Get Exclusive Ford Pro Demo EVs
Ford Pro is opening exclusive dealer demonstrations of its full electric-vehicle lineup to prospective local and state government customers.
The first-time program gives government fleet shoppers the chance to try out a 2024 model from each of Ford Pro’s three EV lines for 1,000 to 5,000 miles. The lines are the F-150 Lightning, the Mustang Mach-E and both the standard and the newly debuted enhanced-range E-Transit vans.
The large mileage allotment acts like an extended test drive to give shoppers a chance to fully experience the models in their daily operations.
Ford Pro says it’s observed that interest and demand for EVs increases significantly when fleet customers test-drive one. It says governments already have strong interest in increasing their use of zero-emission vehicles, so the demonstrations make sense.
Ford and other automakers have recently pulled back on accelerated transitions to all-EV lineups as demand hasn’t kept pace with their projections, shifting more toward hybrid production.
Ford Pro said it’s making the demonstration EVs available at a reduced cost to dealers, which can get one vehicle from each of the three lines.
“It’s often said that to drive an EV is to love an EV, and this initiative accelerates that discovery,” said Ford Pro Sales Manager for Federal State and Local Government Nathan Oscarson.
Ford Pro said vehicles can be enrolled in the program once they’re assigned vehicle identification numbers. The enrollment period ends on Dec. 6.
Any demo vehicles sold to a government agency after demonstrator service are eligible for Government Price Concessions.
