Arizona Stores in New Hands

Two Arizona car dealerships have been picked up by a growing automotive group in a recently closed deal.

Watson Chevrolet and Infiniti in Tucson joined Courtesy Automotive Group, marking an even 10 dealerships operated by Courtesy between Arizona and California. Karl Watson was the seller.

Courtesy is led by President and CEO Scott Gruwell, a third-generation family owner who renamed the new stores to reflect the Courtesy brand.

“We’re excited to welcome these Chevrolet and Infiniti dealerships to the Courtesy family and expand our presence in Tucson,” he said.

Courtesy also operates dealerships across various U.S. and overseas brands in Arizona’s Phoenix metropolitan area, including Mesa, Scottsdale and Superstition Springs, and in San Diego, Calif.

The group traces its roots to a Chevrolet store that opened in Phoenix in 1955. Though it opened its San Diego Chevrolet store in 1961, it hasn’t expanded in California.

Pinnacle Mergers & Acquisitions represented the seller in the transaction.
