Rolls Royce drives into the future of Electric Vehicles in Bharath with Spectre EV launch

New Delhi: Rolls-Royce, the world’s luxury car giant, shifted into the next gear by officially launching the Electric Vehicle (EV) segment in Bharath on January 19 with its first electric car, the Spectre EV.

The expected ex-showroom price is reported to be between Rs. 7 crore and Rs. 9 crore in the country.

Reports indicate that in November 2023, the company delivered the first unit of the Spectre in Chennai. Baashyaam Yuvaraj, an entrepreneur in the construction business based in Chennai, was the recipient of the country’s first Rolls-Royce Spectre EV.

Built on Rolls-Royce’s Architecture All Luxury platform, the Spectre EV features a two-door, four-seated model. Automotive specialists anticipate various changes in both the interior and exterior design of the Spectre EV compared to the regular vehicle.

In terms of exterior design, the Spectre EV showcases the broad Rolls-Royce grille as in the conventional (iconic) model. Notably, the iconic ‘Pantheon grille’ is illuminated by 22 LEDs, serving as a reminder of the electric Rolls Royce.

The vehicle is equipped with a high-capacity battery pack, boasting a range of around 530 km on a single charge, with a power consumption of 2.9 mi/kWh or 21.5 kWh/100 km, utilizing a 102 kWh battery pack.

Several automobile experts in the country are eagerly anticipating this as a new sign of a shift encouraging among vehicle buyers towards electric vehicles, potentially influencing other brands nationwide.
