2024 Ford Mustang costs $3,350 more, priced from $32,515 to $59,565

The redesigned 2024 Ford Mustang will arrive in dealer lots this summer with a new look, new tech, and a new price, Motor Authority reported on Tuesday. The seventh generation of the pony car costs at least $3,350 more than the 2023 Ford Mustang, and the new 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse track variant tips the price scales at $59,565.

The entry-level Mustang coupe costs $32,515, including a $1,595 destination fee. The 2023 Mustang on sale now costs $29,165, factoring in a $1,395 destination fee. The new Mustang rides on the same platform as the old Mustang that launched new for 2015, but it wears new body panels and a more wind-swept style with more downforce and a lower coefficient of drag than its predecessors, Ford said. The low beltline, long nose, and short deck remain, but the rear haunches flex out and Ford updated the Mustang’s tri-bar lighting theme front and back. LEDs and automatic high beams come standard.

Other equipment includes a 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13.2-inch infotainment touchscreen, though Ford hasn’t detailed the full features list yet.

The standard engine is a 2.3-liter turbo-4 that makes 315 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. A 10-speed automatic transmission sends power to the rear wheels, and a standard limited-slip differential controls traction at the rear wheels. A 6-speed manual only comes with the V-8 Mustang.

Without a manual transmission option, Ford equips the base Mustang with standard driver-assist tech such as automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, active lane control, and blind-spot monitors, which are key for the limited sight lines on the side and rear. Adaptive cruise control is optional.

The $38,040 Premium trim adds a heated steering wheel, remote start, and wireless smartphone charging, and it starts the bidding for the 2024 Mustang convertible at $43,540.

The 5.0-liter V-8 Mustang GT returns, and with the end of the Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger, as well as the Chevy Camaro in limbo, the Mustang GT may be the last and only V-8 muscle car. The 2024 Mustang GT costs $43,090, and its V-8 puts out 480 hp and 415 lb-ft. It comes standard with a 6-speed manual transmission with rev matching, or buyers can opt for the 10-speed automatic.

The Premium trim GT costs $47,610 for the coupe and $53,100 for the convertible.

The 2024 Mustang Dark Horse tops the lineup at $59,565. Sold only as a coupe, and with the V-8 tuned to 500 hp and 418 lb-ft, the track-focused Dark Horse sports upgrades such as Brembo 6-piston front brake calipers; engine oil, transmission, and differential coolers; a model-specific suspension with heavy duty front springs and magnetic dampers; and a Torsen 3.73:1 rear differential.

Dark Horse models have unique front and rear ends, a rear spoiler, and a front splitter. Options include carbon-fiber wheels and various colors and stripes.
