2022 Honda Civic: A Trim Comparison

LX

The 2022 Honda Civic LX starts at $21,700 and is one of the cheapest sedans on the market. Great reliability and a cheap price make for a win-win. The LX may not be for everyone. It comes standard with a CVT transmission, but you can also opt to change it to a manual transmission. The engine is a 2.0L four-cylinder that’s capable of 158 horsepower and 138 pound-foot of torque.

The Civic has some nice features like Honda Sensing and multi-angle rearview camera with guidelines, Bluetooth, automatic climate control and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone integration. Since it’s a smaller sedan, it even gets great gas mileage of up to 31 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the highway.

Additionally, a hatchback model, where the back of the vehicle opens to a rear cargo area instead of a separate trunkwill be available later in the year. The 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback LX will likely offer the 1.5L turbocharged engine capable of 174 horsepower.

Sport

The Sport trim is a newer trim option for the Civic that returns for the in 2022 lineup. Starting at $23,100, the 2022 Honda Civic Sport comes standard with the same engine and  CVT transmission as on the LX trim. Unlike the LX, however, the Sport trim allows for proximity keyless entry and remote start. The sporty-inspired alloy wheels are an upgrade from the LX.

Other features include an eight-speaker stereo system, sport pedals, paddle shifters, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. On the outside, exterior design accents provide an overall sportier look.

EX

The EX is basically an upgrade from the LX. The 2022 Honda Civic EX is still equipped with an automatic CVT and four-cylinder engine, but it offers more in the way of features.

The smaller additions to the EX make it a much better choice when compared to the LX. The exterior adds a one-touch power moonroof and heated outside mirrors. The inside includes dual-zone climate control, a split-folding rear seat, a rear-center armrest and heated front seats. For safety, there’s blindspot monitoring to assist you on the road. get this starting at $24,700.

Touring

Lastly, the Honda Civic Touring is the ultimate compact and starts at $28,300. It has all the features any driver could want for safety, comfort, and sensibility. The exterior of the Touring adds LED foglights headlights with auto on-off functionality, side mirror turn indicators, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. The interior gets a significant upgrade to a 12-speaker Bose premium stereo and leather upholstery.

The 9-inch display infotainment system upgrade includes a Honda satellite-linked navigation system with voice recognition and Honda HD digital traffic. The vehicle also features wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless device charging, HD radio, satellite radio and additional USB ports. On top of this, you’ll get more safety features too – including rear cross traffic alert and front and rear parking sensors.
