F-150 Trim Comparisons
The 2021 F-150 comes in a variety of trim options. Whether you are looking for a basic work truck or something more lavish, the new Ford F-150 offers something for everyone. Let’s take a closer look!
XL
Starting at $28,940, the Ford F-150 XL comes with a variety of cab and engine options. Note that the base prices for the F-150 trims are for regular cabs. Most drivers will want to spring for the SuperCab or SuperCrew. Those up the price points to $33,375 and $37,000, respectively, for the F-150 XL.
The base engine is a 3.3-liter Ti-VCT V6 engine that has 290 horsepower and 265 lb.-ft. of torque. The XL comes standard with an automatic transmission, but few thrills. It doesn’t have Bluetooth connectivity, although the XL can include Sync for an extra cost. We think this is a poor choice by Ford and that Bluetooth should be standard on all cars by this point.
Thankfully, the 2021 Ford F-150 XL update includes new safety features like a rear-view camera with dynamic hitch assist and AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control.
XLT
The 2021 Ford F-150 XLT is the next step up at $35,050. It’s extra features make the upgrade worth it for some drivers. The addition of Sync makes all the difference since you can connect your phone through Bluetooth. It comes standard with the same 3.3-liter engine as the XL, so you can expect similar horsepower and torque. Additionally, the XLT comes with blind spot monitoring, rear parking censors and lane keeping assist safety features.
Lariat
The F-150 Lariat has a significant price increase from the XLT to $44,695. It comes standard with a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine that’s capable of 325 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque. If that isn’t enough power, you can upgrade to the 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost or a 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V8 engine.
The Lariat comes with everything the XLT has plus luxurious features like leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, as well as power-adjustable, heated and ventilated front seats. A 12-inch touchscreen, 12-inch digital gauge cluster, remote start and push-button start are also included with this trim.
King Ranch
The 2021 Ford F-150 King Ranch’s MSRP of $56,330 brings with it more technological features and a strong engine. It has a remote tailgate release and 110-volt/400-watt power inverter on the instrument panel.
The color touch-screen displays phone, audio, and available navigation functions. A heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, and front parking sensors are equipped. Sync 4 also allows your King Ranch to connect to Wi-Fi. Finally, the King Ranch comes with a powerful 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V8 engine that’s capable of 395 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque.
Raptor
The Raptor increases the price slightly from the King Ranch trim with a starting MSRP of $64,145 and is equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine. This makes it perfect whether you’re on a paved road or driving through rough terrain. Achieving 450 horsepower and 510 lb.-ft. of torque, this high-performing engine generates even more power than the previous 6.2-liter V8 offered.
Along with everything the Lariat comes equipped with, the Raptor also has quad-beam LED headlamps and LED taillamps with a black surrounding. The Raptor also has some exterior upgrades such as cast aluminum running boards, heavy-duty front and engine skid plates, and a unique grille with Ford in block letters.
Platinum
The 2021 Ford F-150 Platinum edition starts at $59,110 and works to out-do the King Ranch. The standard Platinum equipment includes Admiral blue unique bucket seats, a moonroof, second-row heated seats and privacy glass. Some standout improvements over other models are the massage front seats and traffic sign recognition.
Limited
The Limited is the most expensive F-150 trim offered by Ford at $70,825. Along with everything the Platinum comes with, it also has a 360-degree camera with a split-view display, park assist and trailer backup assist. An 18-speaker Bang & Olufsen system is standard with this trim. If you’re wondering about the engine, the Limited uses the high-power settings of the 3.5-liter V6 eco boost capable of 375 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. of torque.
Tremor
An all-new trim for 2021 is the Tremor. It will be exclusively a SuperCrew cab model with a 5.5-foot bed, and comes equipped with a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine and 10-speed automatic transmission. Four-wheel drive is also featured. Designed as an off-roader, it will have 33-inch all-terrain tires, hill descent control, an upgraded suspension and trail control driver assistant features. The model will start at $49,505.
